About This Tour

One cannot exaggerate the importance of mezcal as a cultural element of social life in Oaxaca. A popular saying says: PARA TODO MAL, MEZCAL, PARA TODO BIEN TAMBIÉN. (For everything bad, mezcal, for everything  good, as well.)

The tour is designed to go see, normally, 3 places where mezcal is produced in two different ways, the Traditional way, the most common way nowadays, using copper distillation equipment, and the Ancestral one, using clay pots, just the way it used to be produced in the old days.

We will also get acquainted with the many sorts of agaves used to produce mezcal, the cultivated kinds, and the wild ones. Any each of them having their own taste and specific flavor.

And also, we will be able to get in close contact with the masters MEZCALEROS. The people in charge of the process and the quality of the produced mezcal.
